Piedmont Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Infectious Diseases, P.A. is an out-patient clinic run by Dr. Syed A. Masood, M.D. and Dr. Naseem J. Masood, M.D., FCCP.

Dr. Syed Masood graduated from Kakatiya Medical College in India. After moving to the United States in 1980s, he completed Internal Medicine residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in 1991 and obtained board certification. He went on to complete his fellowship in Infectious Disease at UMDNJ (Newark, NJ) in 1993. He started and is continuing his practice in Raleigh, North Carolina since January 1997.

Dr. Naseem Masood graduated from Osmania Medical College in India. After moving to the United States in the 1980s with her husband, she completed Internal Medicine residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in 1991 and obtained board certification. She went on to complete her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at UMDNJ (Newark, NJ) in 1996 and board certifications in these fields as well. She started and is continuing her practice in Raleigh, North Carolina since January 1997.

This office offers a wide array of services.

Dr. Naseem Masood offers consultations for pulmonary diseases such as COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, sleep related breathing disorders, sleep apnea, occupational lung diseases, etc.

Dr. Syed Masood evaluates and treats a broad spectrum of infectious diseases such as minor skin infections, bacterial and fungal, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDs and related opportunistic infections (evaluation and follow-up of their immune status, resistant studies, and modification of treatment plans). Other infections such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme disease, parasitic infections, advice on travel medicine, vaccinations, etc. are also evaluated. Additionally, Dr. Syed Masood is a primary care provider.
