Pulmonary Consults, PFTs, and Bronchoscopies

In pulmonary consultations, Dr. Naseem Masood do evaluations of:

Dr. Naseem Masood also offers Pumlonary Function Testing. Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) are a group of tests that measure how well the lungs take in and release air and how well they move oxygen into the blood.

Pulmonary function tests are used to:

  • Diagnose certain types of lung disease (especially asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema)
  • Find the cause of shortness of breath
  • Measure whether exposure to contaminants at work affects lung function

Bronchoscopy is a test to view the airways and diagnose lung disease. It may also be used during the treatment of some lung conditions. A bronchoscope is a device used to see the inside of the lungs. It can be flexible or rigid. Usually, a flexible bronchoscope is used.

At this office, Dr. Naseem Masood determines whether a patient needs a bronchoscopy and schedules and performs one at the hospital.
